TPEs for pharmaceutical packaging
For the first time Kraiburg TPE will exhibit at InnoPack (FrankfurtMain, Germany, 22-24 October 2013). The company will highlight its Thermolast M materials for applications in primary and secondary pharmaceutical packaging (hall 4.1, booth 41A57). 30,000 trade visitors from more than 140 countries are expected to attend the international specialized fair for medical packaging.
With six different TPE series, the compounder provides a large portfolio for different applications in the medical and pharmaceutical sector. Each series features different key characteristics. low sliding friction, very good resealing properties, good compression set, good adhesion to technical thermoplastics, high flexibility, and compounds for thick-walled components.


The company’s TPEs for the medical and pharmaceutical sector comply with medical standards such as DIN ISO 10993-5, -10, -11, USP Class VI, USP 661 as well as DIN ISO 10993-4. The latter allows the material’s direct contact with blood and medicine.
The Thermolast M compounds can be processed via injection molding, multi-component injection moulding, and extrusion. Moreover, all Thermolast M materials can be sterilised with superheated steam, gamma, and EtO.
